GANG UNIT

The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office Gang Unit is manned by one full time Investigator and two School Resource Officers that serve as part time members of the unit.  if is their job to collect information on all gang activity, as well as conduct gang awareness courses.  The Gang unit works with all divisions within the Sheriff's Office to provide information on any gang related activity. 

1. The mission of the Gang Unit is to eradicate gangs and gang activity through expanding the knowledge of the citizens, Law Enforcement, educators and school administrators.

2.  To prevent, interdict, and combat criminal gang activity in Kershaw County on every front possible and with every tool lawfully available. 

We will fulfill this mission through presence, deterrence, partnerships, intervention, education, enforcement, prosecution and incarceration.  Any information you may have on gang related activity please contact the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office.   

Gang Awareness Course are taught free of charge to any group requesting a presentation by contacting Inv. Wayne Nesbitt.
